David Strong (Chair)
David Strong began his career as Professor of Geology at Memorial University of Newfoundland, where he rose to the position Vice-President (Academic). He was later appointed President of the University of Victoria, a position he held until 2000. He sits on National Research Council's Executive Committee, and represents Council on the Advisory Board of NRC's Institute for Fuel Cell Innovation.

John ApSimon
John ApSimon is a former Science Advisor to the Deputy Minister of the Environment. He recently retired from Carleton University as VP Research after a 38-year academic career. He was Chair of the SSHRC National Consultation on the archiving of publicly funded research.

Guy Baillargeon
Guy Baillargeon leads research and development activities on a Canadian Biodiversity Information System at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. Since October 2002, he has chaired the NODES Committee of the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF).

Joyce Garnett
Joyce Garnett is University Librarian at the University of Western Ontario and teaches on an adjunct basis in the Faculty of Information and Media Studies at UWO. She currently serves as President of the Canadian Association of Research Libraries.

Fred Gault
Fred Gault is Director of the Science, Innovation and Electronic Information Division at Statistics Canada. One of his responsibilities is the development of indicators related to the information society.

Charles (Chuck) Humphrey
Chuck Humphrey is Head of the Data Library and Academic Director of the Research Data Centre at the University of Alberta. He helped author the report, "Data Policy and Barriers to Data Access in Canada: issues for global change research". He was a member of the recent National Data Archive Consultation.

Steven Jones
Steven Jones is Head of Bioinformatics at the Genome Sciences Centre and founding director of the CIHR/MSFHR Strategic training program in Bioinformatics for Health Research. He was previously part of the bioinformatics group at the Sanger Institute, Cambridge, UK.

Ellsworth LeDrew
Ellsworth Frank LeDrew holds a University Research Chair at the University of Waterloo. He has served over the past five years on two NSERC grant selection committees. He is a senior member of the IEEE and is an elected member of the IEEE Geophysics and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) Administrative Committee.

Peter Pennefather
Peter Pennefather is Professor, University of Toronto department of Pharmaceutical Science, Faculty of Pharmacy. He is cross-appointed to the departments of Physiology, Pharmacology and the Institute of Medical Science. His research is focused on monitoring sub-cellular signalling associated with coordination of cellular nanophysiology.

Andrew Pollard
Queen's University Professor Andrew Pollard focuses his research on computational and experimental fluid dynamics. He has helped to create synergistic relationships at the university, inter-university, provincial, national and international levels. He was principal investigator for the High Performance Computing Virtual Laboratory and Chair of the Board and President of the national HPC association, C3.ca.

Richard Rachubinski
Richard Rachubinski is Professor and Chair of the Department of Cell Biology at the University of Alberta. His research interests are in the areas of protein trafficking and organelle assembly. Before joining U of A, he was at the Department of Biochemistry at McMaster University (1984-1993), and did postdoctoral studies at the Rockefeller University.

John Rodgers
John Rodgers is the founder of Ottawa-based Toth Information Systems, a leading provider of crystallographic database environments and software for materials research. He is currently working with the NRC on the computational design of materials for applications in the aerospace industry. His latest research directions are in the applications of computational approaches to materials design for structural and functional materials.

John Spray
John Spray is Professor of Geology at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton. He is Director of the Planetary and Space Science Centre, which includes a NASA Regional Planetary Image Facility, and Chair of the Space Exploration Advisory Committee to the Canadian Space Agency.

Robyn Tamblyn
Robyn Tamblyn is Professor at the McGill University Faculty of Medicine. She leads initiatives to optimize drug management and enhance the early uptake of evidence into primary care practice. She is also scientific director of IRIS-Quebec, which aims to integrate data from four academic university health centres and their extended primary care networks with the provincial administrative data repository.

Paul Uhlir
Paul F. Uhlir is Director of International Scientific and Technical Information Programs at the National Academies in Washington, D.C., where he directs policy studies for the U.S. government. His work emphasizes issues at the interface of science, technology, and law, with primary focus on digital information policy and management, and on intellectual property (IP) on the Internet.
